Explore this ideaPodcastAfrik — Mobile Sound Studio
Mobile podcast and audio production studio offering Senegalese businesses, institutions, and creators professional audio content production.
The Problem
The podcast market is exploding in Africa but Senegalese creators don't have access to affordable professional studios to produce quality content. Companies and NGOs want to launch institutional podcasts but don't know how to produce, edit, and distribute professional audio content. Community radio stations lack the means to modernize their sound production.
The Opportunity
Africa has over 100 million podcast listeners in 2026 and the market doubles every 18 months. Spotify and Audiomack are massively investing in African podcasts. Companies are increasingly allocating budget to audio communication (branded content, audio thought leadership). The mobile studio model drastically reduces equipment and infrastructure costs.
The Concept
PodcastAfrik operates a pro-quality sound studio in a suitcase (Shure microphones, Zoom recorder, portable acoustic treatment) that travels to the client. Services include: recording, editing, sound branding, and distribution on Spotify/Apple Podcasts/Audiomack. A monthly 'Podcast Brand' package (400,000 FCFA/month) produces 4 turnkey episodes for a company. A 2-day podcast training (200,000 FCFA) is offered to independent creators. A weekly podcast in Wolof on Senegalese economic news is also self-produced for sponsor monetization.
The "Secret Sauce" (USP)
- Studio in a suitcase: travel to the client in 30 minutes — no fixed infrastructure, 70% reduced costs vs a traditional studio
- Included multi-platform distribution: Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Audiomack configured and optimized — the client just talks, PodcastAfrik manages the rest
- Proprietary Wolof podcast: recurring advertising revenue + showcase of PodcastAfrik's production quality to potential clients
Minimum Viable Product (MVP)
To get started quickly:Assembled studio suitcase ($2,000 of equipment), 5 pilot clients tested (2 NGOs, 2 companies, 1 creator), 3 podcasts launched on Spotify, services catalog drafted.
