GaalTech — Last-Mile Logistics

Network of motorcycle and tricycle couriers for express delivery in dense areas and Dakar markets, paired with a SaaS management tool for merchants.

Problem

The Problem

The explosion of e-commerce in Senegal is hampered by unpredictable delivery times and prohibitive costs in peripheral neighborhoods. Small online merchants (Instagram shops, WhatsApp stores) don't have access to affordable and reliable logistics solutions. Existing players (DHL, Colissimo) are too expensive for low-value local shipments.

Opportunity

The Opportunity

The local delivery market in West Africa is growing 35% per year driven by the rise of social commerce. Dakar lacks a logistics player dedicated to SMEs with suitable rates (500-1,500 FCFA per parcel). The development of Diamniadio industrial zones is creating new B2B distribution logistics needs.

The Concept

GaalTech operates a network of 50 partner couriers (motorcycles and tricycles) managed by a real-time dispatch app. Merchants register on the GaalBiz SaaS to manage their orders, track deliveries, and obtain photo proof of delivery. Rates start at 700 FCFA for delivery in Dakar, 1,200 FCFA in the periphery. A locker storage service (neighborhood hub) enables deferred deliveries. Cash On Delivery is managed by GaalTech, eliminating non-payment risk for the merchant.

The "Secret Sauce" (USP)

  • Cash On Delivery managed by GaalTech: the merchant receives their funds within 24h via Wave — no more non-payment risk that hinders local e-commerce
  • Free GaalBiz SaaS for merchants: in exchange for delivery data, offer the software for free to lock merchants into GaalTech
  • Neighborhood locker hubs: parcels can be dropped at a local mini-hub for self-pickup, reducing delivery failures by 40%

Minimum Viable Product (MVP)

To get started quickly:

10 partner couriers in Dakar, basic dispatch app (React Native), Cash On Delivery service tested with 30 Instagram merchants for 6 weeks.
