The Problem
Senegalese SMEs massively suffer from inter-company payment delays: a supplier delivers goods but waits 30 to 90 days to be paid by their business client. These delays create cash flow crises that paralyze thousands of healthy businesses. No affordable digital B2B payment infrastructure exists for small structures: bank transfers are slow, checks unreliable, and Wave is not designed for professional invoicing.
The Opportunity
The volume of B2B transactions between SMEs in Senegal is estimated at 2,000 billion FCFA per year. The factoring (receivables financing) market in West Africa is virtually non-existent for SMEs but represents a potential of 500 billion FCFA. The BCEAO is actively encouraging digital B2B payment solutions in its 2025-2030 roadmap.
The Concept
PaayApp lets an SME issue a digital invoice in 30 seconds from their phone, send it to their business client via WhatsApp or SMS, and get paid via Wave or Orange Money in 1 click. An optional factoring module lets them receive 80% of the invoice amount immediately (even if the client pays in 60 days), for a 2% commission. A simplified accounting dashboard automatically generates a receivables statement and account book exportable as PDF for the accountant or bank.
