The Problem
Finding a reliable plumber, electrician, or housekeeper in Dakar is a real challenge: random word-of-mouth, providers who don't show up, inflated quotes, and shoddy work with no recourse. Middle-class households waste hours searching for and chasing untraceable providers. Qualified tradespeople lack visibility and work irregularly despite strong demand.
The Opportunity
Dakar's middle class (over 500,000 households) is looking for reliable and accessible home services. The home service platform model (TaskRabbit in the USA, Handyman in Europe) has no established leader yet in West Africa. Companies, hotels, and secured residences are looking for B2B cleaning and maintenance service providers.
The Concept
GarmiSAV is a mobile and WhatsApp app allowing users to book a plumber, electrician, housekeeper, gardener, or repair person in under 2 hours. Each provider is verified (skills test, criminal record, liability insurance) and rated by clients after each intervention. A quote is provided before the intervention. Payment is secured (Wave/Orange Money) and released after client validation. A 'GarmiCare' monthly subscription covers unlimited emergencies for 25,000 FCFA/month.
